Carmel Valley Wedding // Stu & Shelby
I want to try and make these blog posts more than photos, I hope they can be helpful to future brides when making decisions for their day. So I asked Shelby to give us all the details!
“My husband and I met about three years ago. He used to come into the store I worked at quite frequently and me being naive thought he just really liked the merchandise... Apparently, that was not the case. We built a friendship over his almost daily visits and luckily for me he was persistent otherwise I probably would have had no idea he was flirting with me. He finally asked me on a date and the rest is history. We fell very quickly into the strongest, most passionate, and most real love I have ever felt. I love his sense of humor, how hard he works for everything, his spontaneity, the way he has always made me feel safe, and how we can either have a continuous conversation or absolute silence and we both feel completely comfortable and content with that. We were blessed to have been offered our wedding venue by a close family friend. It took a lot of hard work, many weekends, lots of sweat, a little frustration, and the invaluable help of people we love to get the venue just perfect for our special day. What started out as just an old barn that was being used mainly as storage was lovingly turned into a beautiful location to celebrate with our friends and family. Our wedding was absolutely the best day of my life. Everything was beautiful and had turned out better than I had imagined. We loved every minute of it. Ultimately my favorite part of the day was the moment I looked up at Stu as I walked toward him down the aisle. That is a feeling that I will hold precious for the rest of my life. There is no greater blessing than marrying your best friend. As everyone says, the day flies by in a blur. I am so grateful for Flora capturing so precisely how I felt on that day. My pictures were absolutely stunning and although the day went by far too fast, I can look at my pictures and feel those wonderful feelings again. Before my wedding planning started I was told not to stress over the little things, That in the end, everything would be perfect no matter what bumps came along. I had to repeat this mantra to myself several times throughout the process and for the most part, I followed this advice. I feel like this is the most important thing I can pass on to a new bride-to-be. Don't sweat the small stuff, all the tiny details that only you will notice in the end. The most important thing is that you are marrying your best friend and the love of your life, Don't obscure that by stressing over things that in the end no one else will notice but you. This day is solely about the two of you and celebrating the love that you share. Everything else is extra.” - Shelby
